Purchasing Manager - Food

Inside Out Purchasing & Supply has been engaged by a leading company in the leisure sector to recruit a Purchasing Manager. The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for c£40 million spend on Food and Non Food/Indirects. In addition to the basic salary there is also a generous benefits package on offer including a substantial car allowance.

Main Purpose of Role

To build better and more sustainable relationships with suppliers. To constantly review the suppliers and produce a cost conscious approach to this area. To reduce supply where appropriate both in terms of food and non food

Key Responsibilities

Develop a food purchasing strategy including policies and procedures
Review all lines and look for synergies and line/supplier reductions
Minimize cost increases by sourcing best quality at lowest price
Provide detailed analysis on food volumes and spend by month
Manage contracts, negotiate terms and ensure suppliers meet contractual obligations
Review non consumables areas with a view to streamlining the supply base and reducing routes to market
Maintain food and non food databases including cost price and trend analysis

In order to be considered for this role it is essential that you have significant experience in purchasing Food as well as exposure to Non-Food/Indirects.
