Sourcing Manager - Indirect

Salary: £40000 - £50000 per annum
Location: Middlesex

A globally recognised Blue Chip organisation has engaged Inside Out Purchasing & Supply to recruit an experienced Sourcing Manager/Procurement Manager. The successful applicant must have experience of procuring indirect services on a European or Global scale. It is all highly advantageous if the candidates are MCIPS/Degree educated. The Role :

* Lead and facilitate sourcing projects, working with the purchasing teams in 12 countries, aimed at identifying cost saving and optimisation opportunities for assigned indirect spend commodities. The individual will be responsible for developing the appropriate sourcing strategy utilising best in class souring methodologies including RFP's and reverse auctions.

Principal Accountabilities:

* Support effective management of the European supplier base
* Work with internal customers to improve purchasing policies and processes
* Develop and implement best practice and process improvement; working with country purchasing managers to leverage spend using technology based processes where appropriate.
* Interface with company value chain partners during contract implementation and service delivery
* Manage (re)tender processes and negotiations at a local, European and in some cases global basis
* Negotiate, implement and manage supplier contracts
* Develop relationships with suppliers to improve quality and deliver performance in line with the companies objectives and to ensure service levels are met
* Participate in Supplier Performance Management Reviews to assess strategic performance metrics and drive performance improvement actions
* Conduct internal and external benchmarking to ensure agreed rates, policies and processes are competitive and efficient within the market place.

Background, Experience and Achievements:

The suitable candidate would have experience of purchasing in a multi-national environment including tendering and negotiating contracts and supplier management. Knowledge of e-procurement systems including reverse auctions and e-recruitment systems would be advantageous.

Education:
Ideally degree level, CIPS qualified, or relevant work experience
Commercial and Technical Knowledge
An experienced negotiator with the capacity to ensure sooth change management through good interpersonal communication and collaboration at all levels. The candidate must have a strong drive for results, be a skilled communicator with a team oriented approach to gain support from stakeholders. Previous experience in Lean & Six Sigma methodologies would be a distinct advantage.
