Inside Out Purchasing & Supply has been engaged to recruit a Head of Procurement for a leading public sector organization. You will be responsible for group wide procurement activities covering all business areas for goods, services and works. You will be delivering cost reduction, managing supply chain performance, and contract compliance while ensuring services to customers are effectively delivered. Experience in the Social Housing sector is highly desirable, but not essential.

The Role :
 To produce, implement and monitor group wide procurement and sustainability strategies, policies and procedures that support business activity across all directorates.
 To lead on strategically significant procurement and sustainability projects, making sure specifications are fit for purpose and desired outcomes are clearly defined at the outset.
 To recruit, lead and manage the procurement team making sure they have clear direction and instruction as to their responsibilities to assist in delivery of departmental and corporate objectives.
 To construct and manage budgets associated with the areas of responsibility including reporting any variations to budget as they materialise.

Knowledge, skills and experience
 Membership of a recognised procurement professional body (e.g. Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply).
 Educated to degree level.
 Experience of working at a senior level within a large organisation.
 Extensive experience of managing teams with a variety of specialist skills.
 Extensive experience of working within procurement and sustainability sectors.
 Experience of working within social housing with experience of sector specific issues.
 Ability to influence at all levels using audience appropriate skills to achieve desired outcomes.
