Inside Out Purchasing & Supply has been engaged to recruit a Purchasing manager for a leading company in their field. Reporting to the Operations Director, you will be responsible for supporting and executing strategic purchasing objectives. The role is responsible to ensure that the purchasing team ensures optimum supplier performance and class leading stock availability and effective purchase cost controls.

Key responsibilities:

Maintaining stock levels within agreed company limits.
Effective communication with the company's Hong Kong office, with regards to supplier management.
Effective communication with the company's Quality Assurance team, ensuring products comply with all necessary legislative needs.
Implement regular reviews, identifying resourcing and/or supplier consolidation opportunities.
Manage, mentor and provide guidance and direction to the purchasing team, whilst maintaining the company's personnel development program.
Develop a high-performance supply chain, that meets or exceeds company strategic aims.
Assist with developing and implementing operational improvements by ensuring that all non-value added activity is reduced in the warehouse by using lean / kaizen tools and techniques.
Maintain effective communications between the quality, operations and other internal company functions.

Required Work Experience:

Suitable background as a purchasing manager within a diverse worldwide supply environment, to include people management, delegation and process management.
Strong proven leadership experience.
Proven experience of successfully implementing change.
Proven experience of buying, with evidence of cost savings achieved.

Qualifications/Skills
Ideally possessing a relevant professional qualification.
Excellent computer skills and proficient in MS Excel, Word and Outlook.
Excellent knowledge of MRP.
Excellent communications skills both verbal and written.
High comfort level working in a diverse environment.
