Inside Out Purchasing & Supply has been engaged by a leading manufacturing company to recruit an experienced Production Planner. The Production Planner is responsible for purchasing established production parts, vendor monitoring and control and continual cost reduction within standard costs and departmental budget. Being the key liaison between production and all other departments to ensure consistency and accurate production schedules.

The Role
* Deliver the weekly production schedule by ensuring materials, components, equipment and documentation are available on time and in full
* Responsible for component stores area ensuring availability of stock and setting clear organisation and transaction responsibilities
* Be accountable for the purchase requests of all components brought into the business
* Have a detailed understanding of products and processes to enable improvement
* To be a point of contact between departments across the business such as Supply Chain, Warehouse, Production and Procurement
* To be the superuser of MRP, responsible for setting and updating control parameters
* To ensure good levels of stock accuracy and advanced planning processes are in place
* Driving the demand planning process, ensuring min/max levels are correctly set and lead times are being monitored continuously to drive supplier delivery performance
* Support the Procurement team in supplier visits and inspections
* Support the business in using data to help drive decision making, rather than acting on opinions only
* Building close relationships with internal stakeholders
* Supporting the business with projects & inventory reduction activities
* Support management of inventory and stock levels to meet customer requirements
* Undertake additional duties that may be required by the organisation

Experience
* Experience working in a MRP driven, lean manufacturing environment and responsibility of running component stores warehouse

Technical skills
* Essential: Excellent MS Excel skills and experience using SAP MRP
